AERIAL KIDS

Aerial Kids 1

FALL SESSION - September to December

Not sure your Aerial Acrobat will LOVE our classes? This single-semester, one-hour class lets them explore the world of Aerial without you committing for a full term. Not just about fitness and creativity, this one-hour class also teaches dedication, discipline, and focus. Students learn skills on multiple aerial apparatus such as the Trapeze, Hoop, and Silks. With a focus on safety as well as fun, youth are encouraged to push their personal envelopes and experience the thrill of success.

 

Students in the Fall Session participate in the Informal Student Showcase in December.

 

**If your Aerial Artist loves it, they can join the fFULL TERM program in January and participate in the Under The Big Top student showcase in June.

Aerial Kids 1

FULL TERM - September to June

9-12 yrs

This one-hour class focuses its lessons on Aerial Trapeze, Aerial Hoop, and Aerial Silks giving students a chance to experience Aerial Arts in a safe and encouraging environment. Students learn basic aerial skills and how to apply those skills to express their creativity. Building confidence as well as strength!

 

Students in this class participate in the Informal Student Showcase in December and the Under The Big Top production in June.

Aerial Kids 2

FULL TERM - September to June

9-12 yrs

Pre-requisite: Aerial Kids 1

This class is a continuation of Aerial Kids 1.  Students grow their skills in Aerial Trapeze, Aerial Hoop, and Aerial Silks.

Students in this class participate in the Informal Student Showcase in December and the Under The Big Top production in June.

FULL TERM - September to June

Pre-requisite: Aerial Kids 2

This class focuses on the specific skills of Trapeze. We build strength and flexibility and work specifically on the Trapeze. This class is a more intense learning environment than Aerial Kids 2 and is designed to push students to excel on the Trapeze.

 

Students in this class participate in the Informal Student Showcase in December and the Under The Big Top production in June.

ACRO KIDS

HANDSTANDS

12-WEEK SESSIONS

9-12 yrs

This 12-week class is a circus tumbling and balancing technical class. This class is for students 9-12 who are new to Acro and have not yet mastered cartwheels, bridges and headstands, and handstands. Students learn proper technique and form in balancing, limbering, and tumbling. 

These 12-week programs do not include a performance. 

12-WEEK SESSIONS

11-17 yrs

Kids 11-17 who have mastered the basic cartwheel but want to learn single-handed cartwheels, cartwheel variations, aerial cartwheels, partner cartwheels can register in this 12-week program that is all about the cartwheel! 

These 12-week programs do not include a performance. 

12-WEEK SESSIONS

11-17 yrs

Does your 11-17 year old spend more time on their hands than their feet? This class is all about handstand form and technique. Students learn to master the straight handstand as well as walking handstands, variations on the handstand, press handstands, and eventually handstand cane work. They spend so much time on their hands we should have typed this upside down!

These 12-week programs do not include a performance.

The safe execution of circus skills from aerial to ground acrobatics requires a solid strength and flexibility foundation. This class is designed for aerialists and acrobats to give them the conditioning required to stay safe and injury-free as they progress through the technical challenges of their aerial and acrobatic classes.

As acrobats, we are always working to increase our flexibility and mobility. It feels like we are forever working towards getting our ’splits’. This class teaches safe and responsible flexibility training for young and growing acrobatic bodies. Regular testing is done to track progress.

12-WEEK SESSIONS

Is your child in hockey or soccer or figure skating? We know that dryland training for balance, coordination, agility, and flexibility are important elements to an athlete's growth and success.  Our Circus for Athletes 12-week sessions provides that extra training in a way that adds fun to the mix so that the extra training doesn’t feel like work.

The hammock offers endless technical elements and creative opportunities to invert, flip, roll and explore the unending ways to move within aerial fabric. The beauty of Hammock is that it offers more cradle positions than traditional silks so it’s a perfect option for students still working on their climbing skills!

Students in this class participate in the Informal Student Showcase in December and the Under The Big Top production in June.

HAMMOCK

FULL TERM - September to June

11-17yrs

Pre-Requisite = Aerial Kids 1 and Aerial Kids 2

The hammock offers endless technical elements and creative opportunities to invert, flip, roll and explore the unending ways to move within the aerial fabric. The beauty of Hammock is that it offers more cradle positions than traditional silks so it’s a perfect option for students still working on their climbing skills!
