9-11 years


Aerial Kids (Winter Session only - September to December) Ages 9-12 Not sure your young Aerial Acrobat will LOVE our classes? This single semester class lets them explore the world of Aerial without you committing for a full term. This one hour class focuses its lessons on Aerial Trapeze, Aerial Hoop, and Aerial Silks giving students a chance to experience Aerial Arts in a safe and encouraging environment. Students learn basic aerial skills and how to apply those skills to express their creativity. Building confidence as well as strength! Students in this class participate in the Informal Student Showcase in December. *If your Circus Star loves it they can register in the Continuation class in January and participate in the Under The Big Top production in June. Kids Trapeze (full term) Ages 9-12 Pre-requisite: Aerial Kids 2 This class focuses on the specific skills of Trapeze. We build strength and flexibility and work specifically on the Trapeze. This class is a more intense learning environment than Aerial Kids 2 and is designed to push students to excel on the Trapeze. Students in this class participate in the Informal Student Showcase in December and the Under The Big Top production in June. Kids Hoop (full term) Ages 9-12 Pre-requisite: Aerial Kids 2 This class focuses on the specific skills of Aerial Hoop. We build strength and flexibility and work specifically on the Hoop. This class is a more intense learning environment than Aerial Kids 2 and is designed to push students to excel on the Hoop. Students in this class participate in the Informal Student Showcase in December and the Under The Big Top production in June. Kids Silks (full term) Ages 9-12 Pre-requisite: Aerial Kids 2 This class focuses on the specific skills of Silks. We build strength and flexibility and work specifically on the Silks. This class is a more intense learning environment than Aerial Kids 2 and is designed to push students to excel on the Silks. Students in this class participate in the Informal Student Showcase in December and the Under The Big Top production in June. This class if for students who have not yet mastered cartwheels or down to bridge. Students will learn proper technique and form for balancing, limbering and tumbling. Students in this class participate in the Informal Student Showcase in December. If your Acrobat loves it the can register in January in the Continuation class and participate in the Under The Big Top production in June. Acro 1 (full term) 9-17 years based on ability This single semester class is a circus tumbling and balancing technical class. This class if for students who have not yet mastered cartwheels or down to bridge. Students will learn proper technique and form for balancing, limbering and tumbling. Students in this class participate in the Informal Student Showcase in December and the Under The Big Top production in June. Acro 2 (full term) 9-17 years based on ability This is a circus tumbling and balancing technical class. Students will learn proper technique and form for balancing, limbering and tumbling. This class is for students who can cartwheel and down to bridge. Students will learn proper technique and form for balancing, limbering and tumbling. Students in this class participate in the Informal Student Showcase in December and the Under The Big Top production in June. Conditioning (full term) 9-17 years The safe execution of circus skills from aerial to ground acrobatics requires a solid strength and flexibility foundation. This class is designed for aerialists and acrobats to give them the conditioning required to stay safe and injury free as they progress through the technical challenges of their aerial and acrobatic classes.




6-8 years

They learn not only the importance of safety, but also how to create a character and bring it to life with circus tricks and clown antics. Students in this class participate in the Informal Student Showcase in December. *If your Circus Star loves it they can register in the Continuation class in January and participate in the Under The Big Top production in June. Circus Kids (Full term - September to June) Ages 6-8 This class allows kids learn aerial skills, tight rope, circus tumbling and clown. They learn not only the importance of safety, but also how to create a character and bring it to life with circus tricks and clown antics. 13-17 years


Aerial Youth 1 (Fall session only) Ages 13-17 Not sure your Aerial Acrobat will LOVE our classes? This single semester, one hour class lets them explore the world of Aerial without you committing for a full term. Not just about fitness and creativity, this one hour class also teaches dedication, discipline and focus. Students learn skills on multiple aerial apparatus such as the Trapeze, Hoop, and Silks. With a focus on safety as well as fun, youth are encouraged to push their personal envelopes and experience the thrill of success. Students in the Winter session participate in the Informal Student Showcase in December. **If your Aerial Artist loves it, they can join the full term program in January and participate in the Under The Big Top student showcase in June. Youth Hoop (full term) Ages 13-17
Pre-requisite: Aerial Youth 2 This class focuses on the specific skills of Aerial Hoop. We build strength and flexibility and work specifically on the Hoop. This class is a more intense learning environment than Aerial Youth 2 and is designed to push students to excel on the Hoop. Students participate in the Informal Student Showcase in December and the Under The Big Top student showcase in June. Boys Classes


Boys Class (Fall Session only) Ages 9-17 We all know that Circus isn't just for girls. Some of the world's greatest Circus Artists are boys! So we created a class just for the guys. In this class guys will learn aerial acrobatics, ground acrobatics, juggling and prop manipulation, and balancing skill like tight wire and rola bola. Guys in this class participate in the Informal Student Showcase in December. If they love it, they can register in January for the Continutation class and participate in the Under The Big Top production in June. Boys Class (full term) Ages 9-17 We all know that Circus isn't just for girls. Some of the world's greatest Circus Artists are boys! So we created a class just for the guys. In this class guys will learn aerial acrobatics, ground acrobatics, juggling and prop manipulation, and balancing skill like tight wire and rola bola. Adult Classes


Adult Circus (6 week sessions) This 1 hour class of training trapeze, silks, hoop, hammock, and tight rope is where getting fit is FUN. Experience not necessary! We will teach you just how fun working out can be! Conditioning (full term) The safe execution of circus skills from aerial to ground acrobatics requires a solid strength and flexibility foundation. This class is designed for aerialists and acrobats to give them the conditioning required to stay safe and injury free as they progress through the technical challenges of their aerial and acrobatic classes.




Cancellation Policy


Each class you register in requires a $100 non-refundable registration fee. Withdrawl and refund policy. Single Semester Classes: 1-4 weeks into the semester = Full refund for classes after formal written withdrawl minus $75 administraion fee & $100 non-refundable registration fee. 5-13 weeks into the semester = No refund _____________________________________________________________________________ Full Term Classes: 1-8 weeks into the semester - Full refund for classes after formal written withdrawl minus $75 administraion fee & $100 non-refundable registration fee. 9-36 weeks into the semester = No refund ____________________________________________________________________________ Please note that there will be NO REFUNDS on Circus Training Kits after the kit has been delivered to the students.




Circus Training Kits


Each student will be required to make a one-time purchase of a Circus Training Kit. This kit includes items that typically would have been shared supplies and training tools. Additional supplies can be purchased through the office as replenishments are requried. This one-time purchase includes: - Spectacle Blue bag to hold all kit items - chalk - rosin - yoga block - training stuffie - facial tissue - hand towel - Spectacle Blue journal - pencil crayons Circus Training Kits are mandatory and are a one-time fee of $85+GST Once a Circus Training Kit has been distributed it is NON-REFUNDABLE.




Leadership Team


Students 12-17 have the opportunity to join our Leadership Team. Spectacle Blue Mandate Aerial Dance and Circus is for everyone, not just elite athletes. At Spectacle Blue we strive to build stellar human beings by fostering self-confidence, positive self image and community awareness through physical discipline and creative performance. Becoming a part of the Leadership team means we have the opportunity to give back to our circus community, share our passion for circus and inspire those around us. We leave an everlasting impression on the lives of those we meet. Roles of a Leadership Team Member - Demonstration of Skills. - Help students achieve success in learning elements. - Adjust methods to students level. - Always have a positive attitude - Be a team member - Keep up with technical expertise - go to workshops - push and challenge yourself. - Know terminology. - Greet students cheerfully before and after class. - Maintain children’s safety. - Hand out notes/achievement beads/stickers etc. - Help keep area clean in and out of the studio. - Give praise to students. - Enjoy what you are doing. - Take attendance. - Meet with your teacher regularly. Check the lesson plan before the class begins to be sure you know what will be happening in your class. - Input ideas in choreography or learning of steps. Know the choreography from week to week. - Take initiative to correct or help students with difficulties. - Lead warm up after the first few months. - Maintain attendance at all meetings and complete all weekly assignments, and projects on time. Applications for the Leadership team go out in August of each year.
